Wildfire Burns 500 Acres in Glacier National Park

The Flathead Beacon reports that a wildfire has reportedly burned 500 acres of land near the Thompson Creek drainage in the heart of Glacier National Park. The fire was first reported shorty after 3 p.m. Sunday and at least one helicopter was battling the blaze, according to Flathead National Forest Public Information Officer Ema Braunberger. A Type 3 incident management team is being brought in to fight the fire. Read the full story here.
