Whale Creek Area Closure Lifted

KALISPELL, MONTANA –Weather conditions have been a contributing factor for the Flathead National Forest to lift the closure area in the Whale Creek drainage on the Glacier View Ranger District.  The Trail Creek Road #114, west of the Tuchuck Campground and Trailhead are now OPEN as well as the Whale Creek Road #318, west of Akinkoka Creek is also OPEN. All trails south of the Trail Creek Road #114 and the Nasukoin Mountain Trail, #375 are also OPEN.

Flathead National Forest moves to Stage I Fire Restrictions effective September 5, 2015.  All forest users are asked to comply and remain diligent on the risks that still exist.
