Snow Temporarily Closes Going-to-the-Sun Road at Logan Pass

Glacier National Park’s Instagram page featured this photo from @alexanderfoto of the snowy Highline Trail at Logan Pass on Sunday afternoon, just before Going-to-the-Sun Road was temporarily closed between Big Bend and Jackson Glacier Overlook.

The Flathead Beacon reports that a two-mile section of Glacier National Park’s iconic Going-to-the-Sun Road remains temporarily closed Monday morning after a snowstorm on Sunday created treacherous driving conditions. At 3:56 p.m. Sunday, officials closed the alpine section of the road from Big Bend west of Logan Pass to Jackson Glacier Overlook on the east side, and a snowplow was working in poor weather conditions Monday to clear about an inch-and-a-half of snow and ice from the pass.
