Larry’s column this week’s Hungry Horse News reports that last fall, RAC awarded another grant to Flathead County to apply mag-chloride to the road again this year. Then there was sequestration. In the end, $140,000 was cut from the grant, and the committee had to reapportion the remaining $140,000. Finally, by late July, some grants were canceled, some reduced, and some were funded. Mostly funded was mag-chloride for the North Fork Road. As a result, it has already been applied from Hay Creek to the foot of Vance Hill. In the next week or so, the road from Home Ranch Bottoms to Camas will be treated, vastly reducing dust from Polebridge to Camas Junction. Read the full column here.
