It’s Been Fun!

Update: May 30th will be our last day. We wanted to say thank you to all the folks who have written so many kind words about NFNews. And thank you once again for everyone’s support throughout the years. The North Fork has the best bunch of people ever. We’re going to miss you!

Before we go, here are some fun facts:

  • We started in 2010, so that makes us 10 years old.
  • We posted over 8,000 times.
  • Almost 3,000 photos were posted (many of those contributed by our friends and neighbors)
  • We had 4,000 visitors with almost 10,000 views

The most popular post of all time? A video from Tim Manley called “Elk Crossing” with 450 views.

It’s been fun, but now it’s time for NFNews to close up shop. We’ll be shutting down the website some time towards the end of May. We want to thank absolutely everyone who helped us bring you the North Fork news.

You might consider signing up for the North Fork Classifieds on Facebook… to do so tap here. Also, check out the NFLA website and NFPA website for news on what’s happening with those organizations.

Thanks again for all of the help and support. Stay safe and hopefully we’ll see everyone when we visit this summer!

It’s going to be so sad for NF News to disappear into the sunset. However, you have done an incredible job giving us a place for North Fork news for many, many years. I enjoyed being the “Cub Reporter”………I mean “The Polebridge Bureau Chief” …..for quite a while until other projects took my time and attention…..so, I totally understand you wanting to put your time and attention elsewhere. I just want you to know what a wonderful contribution you have made to the North Fork Community. NF News will be missed. (You are already missed….but now, we will miss NF News too.)

Thank you for the very kind words, Debo. NFNews wouldn’t have been half as interesting or as fun without all of your wonderful contributions. We’re going to miss NFNews too!

I know the NF News was part of many morning rituals: check the Weather, NF News…and inhale your morning coffee! Always appreciated the diversity of articles and beautiful photos, as well as your willingness to “spread the word” regarding upcoming events. A BIG asset to the North Fork community! We’ll miss you, and sincerely wish you all the best.

Patti Hart! I am so sorry and I will miss the terrific connection that your site provided to all things North Fork. Especially for myself, living at such a distance from PB most of the year (but loving it like no other place on earth), your NFN kept me in touch with the community.
You will be missed. It has been a great gift to our community that you have given for so many years. I wish you bon voyage, where ever you follow your adventures. In summer, I hope to get a chance to thank you in person.

Yes……..bravo…….the Fourth Estate, so important to the community which you represented, and also to our tenure as owners of the Northern Lights Saloon, was well served . Your promoting of our French Night menu years ago really helped the Northern Lights. From the Reiswigs and the O’Haras, Wendy, Teckla, our great French Chef (R.I.P.) good old Michel, and everyone else, we say thanks.
