Public Encouraged to Engage in Forest Plan Revision – Next Opportunity February 19 and 20

KALISPELL, MT – The Flathead National Forest has begun revising its Forest Plan and invites everyone to participate. The next opportunity for the public to engage in Plan Revision will be at the next FNF Stakeholder Collaboration Meetings set for February 19 and February 20, 2014, at the Supervisor’s Office at 650 Wolfpack Way in Kalispell. To ensure that we can accommodate everyone who wishes to attend we would kindly ask that you go directly to the website meeting page to register:

Forest Plans provide strategic direction to guide management of forest resources and provide a framework for decision making on site-specific projects and activities. The new planning rule directs Forest Plans to be science-based and developed collaboratively with stakeholders interested in the management of national forests. The Flathead National Forest is committed to collaboration, improving transparency in the process, and strengthening the role of public involvement through dialogue on Forest plan issues.
