Notes from a Polebridge Winter – Wednesday Nov. 12

By | November 12, 2014

Sunrise over the Rockies with new snow

Cold and snow.  It was around -7F this morning when we got up, so we’ve spent a good part of the morning replenishing the inside wood pile for the wood burning stove.  The cold is going to continue all week, although we’re grateful that it’s not going to get any colder.

The radio phone isn’t working today.  Who knows why.  We’ve checked NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center website and there is no indication of any disturbances of the ionosphere, a usual cause for radio blackouts.  We have internet, but Skype doesn’t work with our satellite service.  So, no phone.
