North Fork River Flooding Update

By | May 11, 2017

NOAA has issued another hydrologic outlook for our area that says…

Rising River Levels Return Late this Week and Weekend… Warm temperatures in the terrain along with rain Thursday and Friday will lead to area rivers and streams again seeing increased flows. Rivers are expected to reach their highest levels this weekend. Cooler temperatures over the weekend will slow snowmelt, and rivers are forecast to be receding by late Sunday
into Monday. The following rivers are of highest concern, given their current
and forecasted high flows:

  • Flathead River
  • Yaak River
  • Stillwater River

Those living near these rivers will want to keep a close eye on flows throughout the next several days. For more specifics on area river level forecasts, please see: water.weather.gov/ahps2/index.php?wfo=mso
