Bobcat Season to Close In Trapping District 1

By order of the Montana Fish & Wildlife Commission the season for trapping of all bobcats in Trapping District 1 in northwestern Montana will close at midnight on the evening of Wednesday, December 27, 2017.

The district includes portions of Flathead, Lake, Lincoln, Lewis & Clark, Mineral, Missoula, Powell and Sanders counties.

Mountain Lion Hunting Districts Closed Or To Close In Regions 1, 3 & 4

The hunting of mountain lions in several Montana hunting districts in Regions 1. 3 & 4, closed or to close at one-half hour after sunset:

Closed to hunting of female mountain lions:

  • HD’s 318 & 335 – which includes portions of Jefferson and Lewis & Clark counties, closed Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017.

Closed to hunting of male mountain lions:

  • HD 121 – which includes portions of Sanders county, closed Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017.

Will close to hunting of female mountain lions:

  • HD 331 – which includes portions of Beaverhead, Silver Bow and Madison counties, will close on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017.

Will close to hunting of male mountain lions:

  • HD’s 418, 420 & 448 – which includes portions of Cascade, Judith Basin, Fergus and Meagher counties, will close on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017.

The closure notice for the hunt came shortly after Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials received word that the pre-established harvest sub-quota for the districts had been met.
