Mountain Lion Hunting To Close Hunting Districts In Regions 1, 2 & 3

The hunting of mountain lions in several Montana hunting districts in Region’s 1, 2 and 3 will close at one-half hour after sunset on Thursday, December 17, 2015:

Will close to hunting of female mountain lions:

  • HD 212 & 215 – which includes portions of Granite, Powell, Deer Lodge, & Silver Bow Counties.

Will close to hunting of male mountain lions:

  • HD 120 – which includes portions of Flathead, & Lincoln Counties.

Will close to hunting of all mountain lions:

  • HD 213 & 214 – which includes portions of Granite, Powell, & Deer Lodge Counties;
  • HD 339, 343, & 388 – which includes portions of Lewis & Clark, & Jefferson Counties;
  • HD 392 – which includes portions of Broadwater, & Lewis & Clark Counties.

    The closure notices for the hunt came shortly after Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials received word that the pre-established harvest quota or sub-quota for the district(s) had been met.
