Hunter Education Class Scheduled

All hunter education classes are free of charge. By state law, anyone born after January 1, 1985, must have completed the Hunter Education Course to buy a hunting license in Montana. A student must be at least 10 years old to take the course.

All students must register online at the FWP website: fwp.mt.gov; click education, then click hunter education.

Columbia Falls Schedule:
March 22: Mandatory orientation and materials pick up: Come to the Columbia Falls Fire Station between the hours of 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Classes held on April 4, 5, 7, 11, 12, 14 from 7-9 p.m. at the Columbia Falls High School.
Field Course: Saturday, April 16, at the North Valley Shooting Range.
Test night: April 18: back at Columbia Falls High School, 7-9 p.m.; Lead Instructor: John Kropp, 250-1963
Kila: Classes run April 18, 19, 20, 21, 3:30-6:30 p.m. at the Kila Grade School; Field Course is on April 23; test is on April 25. Lead Instructor is Judy Sommers, 752-8818
Hot Springs: Classes run March 21, 22, 23 ,24, 25, 7-9 p.m. at the Hot Springs Elementary School; Field course is on March 26. Lead Instructor is Robert Paro, 741-3441.
