The hiking season has started early this year! Many trails that would normally still be packed with snow in early June are now open and ready to be hiked. The hike to Thoma Lookout is one of them. This 8-mile roundtrip hike features wonderful views in every direction at the top. On the way up through shady forest, the trail parallels one of the most delightful creeks in the Whitefish Range. Its moss-covered banks are like something out of a fairy-tale. Thoma Lookout is a quaint, old-style lookout that is staffed by Leif Haugen during the fire season.
