Momma Grizzly and her Cubs on Trail Creek

By | August 26, 2014

Momma grizzly and cubs near Peterson Homestead on Trail CreekLynn Hamersley snapped this photo Sunday morning at 9 AM in the front yard of the old Peterson Homestead on Trail Creek. The bruins ate buckthrone and red osier dogwood berries, the cubs jumping up to reach them, while the Mama stood up to peer around periodically. They put on quite a show for about half an hour, then moved north along an ancient old bear trail.

Thanks for the photo and the story, Lynn!  If anyone has photos and stories from the North Fork, please contact me and we’ll share them with our neighbors.
