Glacier Park Reopens Sun Road to Big Bend

By | October 4, 2014

The Flathead Beacon reports that officials at Glacier National Park have reopened the Going-to-the-Sun Road up to Big Bend on the west side of the park, about 29 miles from West Glacier. Spokesperson Denise Germann said the entire west side of the road to Logan Pass should be open by the weekend, depending on the weather. Roughly six inches of snow fell in the upper hills of Glacier on Wednesday and Thursday, which forced the park to close the road from Avalanche. The east side of the road is currently closed because of road work. For more information about the Sun Road’s status, click here.
