There were a couple announcements of interest from the FWP this week…
- Increase standard harvest limits for lake trout to 20 daily and 40 in possession.
- Establish a bag limit for yellow perch over 10 inches in length to10 per day on Flathead Lake.
- Re-establish bull trout harvest on Lake Koocanusa.
- Limit brook trout harvest to one per day, 18-inch minimum length, for Georgetown Lake.
The proposed changes are available for review and comment on the FWP website at fwp.mt.gov. Click “Fishing” and then “Fishing Home.” Statewide public meetings are scheduled to discuss the proposed regulations in Kalispell on Sept. 3; 5-7 p.m., FWP, 490 N. Meridian Road. Comments must be received by Sept. 12. The Fish & Wildlife Commission will take final action on the regulations in October.
