Crews protecting historic Glacier NP forest from Howe Ridge fire

KPAX reports that the Howe Ridge Fire which has destroyed historic cabins and forced evacuations has seen a reduction in fire behavior which has allowed firefighters more suppression opportunities, but the area is not out of the woods yet.

Fire managers remain concerned as the blaze threatens a 500-year-old Cedar Hemlocks forest and they’re taking every precaution to make sure they have a plan intact if the fire makes another run.
