Climber dies while hiking rocky terrain in Glacier Park

The Flathead Beacon reports that a climber fell roughly 1,000 feet to his death Tuesday morning while scaling Apikuni Mountain in the northeast area of Glacier National Park. Rangers recovered the body of a 21-year old male from Davie, Fla., Tuesday evening, according to park officials. The individual was climbing with three others along a very steep section of mountain with cliffs and rocky terrain, according to the park. All four members of the climbing party are employees of the park’s concessioner Glacier Park, Inc. and work at the Many Glacier Hotel.
