Cell service goes out in rural areas

The Daily Inter Lake reports that Rural Verizon subscribers whose cellphone service has been disrupted now have options available to help them restore coverage or switch carriers.  Last week, the Office of Consumer Protection at the Montana Department of Justice began receiving calls from customers in primarily rural areas who lost their cellphone service. The disruption came after a three-year contract ended June 22 that allowed calls of Verizon subscribers to roam using AT&T cell towers in Montana, according to a news release from Anastasia Burton in the Montana Attorney General’s Office.
