Brown bag presentation on the history of fire in western Montana forests

By | June 1, 2018

Join us on Thursday, June 7 from noon to 1:00 p.m. at the West Glacier Community Building for a brown bag presentation on the history of fire in western Montana forests. From Native American pre-European influence to the present, fire was, is, and always will be a major disturbance and influence of the forest environment.

Rick Trembath of Flathead Forestry & Fire Consulting will provide a brown bag presentation that explores historic fires in Northwest Montana and looks at how these past fires shaped the forest landscapes of today. Trembath, a wildland firefighter for over 50 years, will review some of the lessons learned from Northwest Montana’s historic wildfires and how they may apply to the future of area wildfires. See you there!
